Tukutuku Panels

Ahakoe he iti, he pounamu. Although it is small, it is precious.

In this fun 2 hour workshop, weave your own small Tukutuku panel!

Tukutuku is an ornamental decoration or latticework used to decorate the interior walls of a wharenui (meeting house). There are many different patterns and each tells a different story. What story will you create?

With guidance you can create your own design, or we have samples you can choose from. We also have a mix of traditional and contemporary materials available for you to use.

Suitable for Ages 9+ Years

Wednesday 16th April, 1.00pm to 3.00pm

• All materials will be provided - includes wood, harakeke (flax), cotton thread, wool, raupo, toetoe.
• Skills required: Ability to tie knots.
• Places are limited - register early to avoid missing out!
