CAN Screen Printing Evening Class Term 1 2022 (EV2205)

Introduction to Screen Printing for Adults & Youth 14+

Suitable for beginners - easy projects to help build your confidence.

Please register online
Places are limited to 8 people and a waiting list will be maintained for future workshops.

This introductory course is being held over six consecutive Thursday evenings by experienced printmaker and tutor, Lisa Feyen. She will familiarise you with the use of hand-cut stencils, and carefully guide you through this versatile screen printing process, encouraging you to explore and experiment with the medium.

Screen printing is a great way to apply images on T-shirts or paper for fine art prints, fabric for making cushion covers or bags, flat pack boxes, calico bags, greetings cards… the options are endless! With minimal equipment you can print at home on your kitchen table once you know what to do.

You will work on easy projects to build your confidence, before progressing to printing on items such as a T-shirt or bag. So whether you are new to screen printing, or want to refresh your skills, this is a great place to do that while having fun surrounded by like-minded artisans.

Suitable for adults and ages 14+

Items you will need to bring:

  • "X-acto" knife (or similar) plus blades, these need to be pointy for fine cutting
  • Cutting mat - If you have one
  • Paper and fabric to print on
  • Mesh screen. CAN has a limited number only, therefore we encourage you obtain your own. These can be ordered through CAN at your first class at a cost of $65.
  • Apron.

In line with the current Covid-19 protection framework CAN is at the ORANGE setting, please use the Covid Tracer App on entry - mask wearing is mandatory, and social distancing must be maintained when entering and moving about the CAN venue. Vaccine certificates are not required.
